The concerned mom of one of the teen\u00a0San Diego mosque<\/a>\u00a0shooters had frantically alerted cops that her suicidal son had run away in camo and with some of her weapons \u2014 sparking a huge hunt in the hours before the bloodshed unfolded.<\/p>\n

Police spent two hours scrambling to locate the suspects \u2014\u00a0identified as 17-year-old Cain Clark<\/a>\u00a0and 18-year-old Caleb Velasquez \u2014 before\u00a0the gunshots rang out at the Islamic Center of San Diego<\/a>\u00a0on Monday.<\/p>\n

The mother first called cops about 9:40 a.m.,\u00a0warning\u00a0that her son was suicidal, San Diego Police Chief Scott Wahl said.<\/p>\n

The situation only escalated when the mom later learned\u00a0weapons were missing from the home,\u00a0and\u00a0her car was gone.<\/p>\n

She told authorities her son had dressed in camouflage\u00a0and was with an acquaintance at the time, which Wahl noted wasn\u2019t \u201cconsistent with what we would typically see from somebody that is suicidal.\u201d<\/p>\n
