The White House said Sunday that China is set to purchase at least $17 billion in agricultural products from the U.S. per year, a move that comes after\u00a0President Trump\u2019s\u00a0<\/a><\/span>recent China trip.<\/p>\n

In a fact sheet released Sunday, the White House said that Trump, while in China, \u201cnegotiated a sweeping package of commitments that will drive high-paying American jobs and open new markets for U.S. goods.\u201d<\/p>\n

According to the fact sheet, those commitments include China annually buying a minimum of\u00a0$17 billion in American agricultural products through 2028<\/a>.<\/p>\n

On Friday, Trump flew back to Washington from China. While in the East Asian country, he was\u00a0met with notable pageanty<\/a>\u00a0amid tensions over the war in Iran, Taiwan\u2019s fate and trade terms.<\/p>\n

While on the way back from Beijing, Trump assured farmers that they would be satisfied with the deals he had reached with a key purchaser of\u00a0American agricultural goods<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe farmers are going to be very happy. They\u2019re going to be buying millions of dollars,\u201d Trump told reporters.<\/p>\n

The president also told Fox News\u2019s\u00a0Sean Hannity\u00a0<\/a><\/span>that Chinese President\u00a0Xi Jinping\u00a0<\/a><\/span>agreed to buy American soybeans, oil and liquefied natural gas and other energy,\u00a0as well as Boeing jets<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
