President Trump\u2019s\u00a0<\/a><\/span>disapproval rating has reached a new high according to recent poll results.<\/p>\n

An\u00a0ABC News\/Washington Post\/Ipsos poll<\/a> released Friday found that 62 percent of Americans disapprove of the president.\u00a0Survey results reflect an increase of 2 percentage points from February, and respondents\u2019 concerns include the cost of living, affordability and inflation.<\/p>\n

Seventy-two percent of poll participants disapproved of how Trump is handling inflation \u2014 a 7-point increase from two months ago. Twenty-seven percent of poll respondents, meanwhile, approved of Trump\u2019s handling of inflation, and 1 percent skipped the question.<\/p>\n

Similarly, 76 percent disapproved of how Trump is handling the cost of living in the U.S. while 23 percent approved. One percent of respondents skipped the question.<\/p>\n

Trump has previously said he\u00a0\u201cwon\u201d the issue of affordability<\/a>\u201d while claiming that\u00a0inflation amid the war<\/a>\u00a0would not last for long.<\/p>\n

Still, poll responses show participants have been impacted by higher gas prices and rising energy costs, which have risen over the course of the Iran war. Core inflation also hit a two-year high in March:\u00a03.5 percent<\/a>.<\/p>\n

More than half of respondents, 66 percent, said they disapproved of how Trump is handling the Iran war while 33 percent approved. Another 1 percent of participants did not answer the question.<\/p>\n

Negotiations between Washington and Tehran remain in flux as U.S. ground strikes have concluded for the most part overseas.<\/p>\n

Trump said Saturday that the U.S. has received\u00a0a new Iranian proposal<\/a>\u00a0to end the war but expressed skepticism that it could bring about an end to the war.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ll let you know about it later,\u201d he told reporters, adding that \u201cthey\u2019re going to give me the exact wording now.\u201d<\/p>\n

Amid the war in Iran, U.S. allies have drawn the ire of the president. He has accused countries of not sufficiently aiding the U.S. in the Middle East, as some European allies, in particular, have criticized the military operation.<\/p>\n

In response, Trump said Saturday that he\u00a0will pull about 5,000 U.S. troops<\/a>\u00a0from Germany as he has bashed allied leaders.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are going to cut way down, and we\u2019re cutting a lot further than 5,000,\u201d Trump told reporters Saturday.<\/p>\n

Sixty-five percent of poll respondents said Trump is handling U.S. relations with allies poorly amid these public spats.<\/p>\n

This ABC News\/Washington Post\/Ipsos poll was conducted among 2,560 U.S. adults and has a margin of error of plus or minus 2 percentage points.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
