WASHINGTON \u2014 President Trump announced Thursday\u00a0that the US \u201cwill be taking Kharg Island<\/a>,\u201d which processes about 90% of Iranian crude oil exports \u2014 before clarifying that he\u2019s keeping his options open.<\/p>\n

Trump said the US would run the crucial oil depot in a message broadcasting plans for a third night of heavy bombardment as payback for the downing of a US Apache helicopter.<\/p>\n

\u201cAt some point in the not too distant future, we will be taking Kharg Island, and other oil infrastructure points, and assume total control of their Oil and Gas Markets, much like we have with Venezuela,\u201d Trump\u00a0wrote on Truth Social<\/a>\u00a0after 8 a.m.<\/p>\n
